Here are a quick report and photo spread from Trail Crew Leader – David Knupp who assisted Jon, Mike, Connor and others on the approach trail to the south side of Looking Glass this past weekend.

The stoke was high after the Carolina Climbers Coalition had been provided with their own volunteer agreement by the USFS, and promptly got busy with some tread and rock work on one of the approach trails to Looking Glass mountains’ popular climbing areas.

It took a while to gather rock for building a set of steps to repair a badly eroded root system that had turned into a large ledge. Hikers were widening the trail there and the steps will keep folks on the trail. Also, a drain or two was built to move water off the trail. This first official work session for the CCC under their own SVA and collaborating with PAS was a good one and hopefully, there will be many more.  – David Knupp, TCL
