Fellow Mountain Bikers,

We, Pisgah Area SORBA, want to address the recent road and trail closures announced April 13th by the U.S. Forest Service. We know the documents released do leave a lot of questions unanswered. We are working to clarify many issues in regards to the closures.  In the meantime, this is what “We” think it means to us (Mountain Bikers). The forest roads and trails listed are closed for all user types (car/bike/hike/horse). The trails and forest roads NOT listed are still, currently, open for use. We know many of you will get creative in getting to the open trails and we strongly encourage you to ride ONLY the open trails.

Here is a link to the closures.

If you have comments, please let us know what they are.  We will be reviewing and compiling them for consideration to the Pisgah Ranger District. Please make your voice heard in a constructive and respectful way, offering solutions if possible.  We have a valuable partnership with the Forest Service that we need to maintain and hope to offer real solutions to the current issues regarding access.
