Butter Gap Work Day

Thursday, March 21st we will be working on the upper section of Butter Gap trail. We will be moving stone and brushing trail. We plan on being out there until the afternoon, but you are welcome to drive up and leave at any time.

What to Bring:

Required: Long pants, boots that cover your ankles, gloves, water, lunch, snacks, hardhat (bike helmets DO NOT count, but climbing helmets do), safety glasses (sunglasses DO count).

Note: Hardhats, gloves and safety glasses can be provided if needed.

When: Thursday, March 21st from 9:00am - ???

Where: Find Outdoors across from the Pizza Hut in Pisgah Forest

We will drive up to Low Gap road and shuttle to the top of Butter Gap.

Join Pisgah Area SORBA at Earth Mountain Bicycle for its Spring Chapter Meeting and Social! During this meeting, we will discuss current projects, recent happenings, and answer any questions. Earth Mountain Bicycle will also donate proceeds for beer and coffee sales as well as provide some snacks to share. These meetings are a great way to connect with our trail advocacy community and share support for the trails.

Tour De Butter

Tour De Butter

Join us Saturday, October 21st for NC Great Trails State Day!

We will be leading a guided ride of the Butter Gap trail project, starting at the Fish Hatchery and riding up Davidson River trail and road, Catheys Creek road, and Low Gap road to the top of Butter Gap, then down Butter and Cat Gap back to the Hatchery.

Route Details: Approximately 12 miles and 1,500' elevation gain

On Saturday, September 16th, we will continue the work on Squirrel Gap Trail led by Trail Crew Leader Jon Lane. We will clean drains, brush the backstop, and even do some bench cutting if there are enough volunteers.
