We Dig…Trails With Dirt Skrrts

Each year we look forward to forging deeper connections with our colleagues in the biking world. We have been friends with Blue Ridge Dirt Skrrts since their formation, and this Spring we collaborated on a trail day with them. With many of our members and Board Members who also take part in the organization, we were glad to work in the dirt with them! The heart of their organization is to empower mountain bike riders who identify as female to engage in outdoor riding, community involvement, and beyond. As a way to celebrate this, both groups partnered on a trail maintenance day blending volunteers from Dirt Skrrts with Trail Crew Leaders and Board Members of PAS. We split up into three working crews on Lower Side Hill (Eastern) trail, providing seasonal drain work, heavy machinery work with our celebrated “DINGO”, and hauling in bridge materials for our upcoming Pisgah Project Day work. Together we put in over 40 hours of trail work and paved the way for more collaboration in the future. We were very honored to have this wonderful group of volunteers come out and we look forward to adding more Trail Crew Members and Leaders in the future. Learn more about our upcoming collaboration with Blue Ridge Dirt Skrrts; Women’s Bike Day at Ride Kanuga.Thank you to everyone who supported the crew!
